Tay, Wee Peng

Professor of Signal and Information Processing

Dr Tay received the BS degree in Electrical Engineering and Mathematics, and the MS degree in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University in 2002. After an industry stint, he joined the PhD program in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2004 and received the PhD degree in 2008. Subsequently, he worked in quantitative investment banking before joining NTU in 2010. His main research interests are in information processing, graph signal processing, decision making, and robust machine learning.    CV

Kang, Qiyu

Dr. Kang received the B.S. degree in Electronic Information Science and Technology from the University of Science and Technology of China in 2015, and the Ph.D. degree from Nanyang Technological Universty, Singapore, in 2020. His research interests include distributed signal processing, information theory, machine learning and applied probability.

Geng, Tianyu

Dr. Geng received the B.Eng. and Ph.D. degrees in electronic science and technology from Nankai University, Tianjin, China, in 2014 and 2020, respectively. He was a joint-supervised Ph.D. candidate at the Department of Electrical Engineering, Columbia University, from Dec. 2018 to Dec. 2019. He is currently a Research Fellow at the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. His research interests include image processing, sparse representation, and deep learning.

Zhang, Yawei

Dr. Zhang received his B.Eng. degree in Automatic Control from Nanjing Normal University, Nanjing, China, in 2014; and the Ph.D. degree in Control Science and Engineering from the University of Science and Technology of China in 2019. From Dec. 2019 to Jun. 2023, he was a Senior Research Engineer in Huawei Technologies, Shanghai. He is currently a Research Fellow at the school of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. His research interests include localization in wireless sensor network, SLAM, distributed control, distributed optimization and games.

Lu, Yiqi

Yiqi received the B.Eng. degree with Honor in Electrical Engineering and Automation from Sichuan University, China in 2016, and the M.Sc. degree with Merit in Control System from Imperial College London, the United Kingdom in 2017. He is a Ph.D. candidate at the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Nanyang Technological University. His research interests include control systems, optimization and machine learning.

Jian, Xingchao

Xingchao received his Bachelor of Science degree from Nankai University in 2020. Since August 2020, he is a Ph.D. candidate at the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Nanyang Technological University. His research interests include statistical machine learning, statistical signal processing, network detection and artificial intelligence.

Zhao, Kai

Zhao Kai received the B.Eng. degree in Electrical Engineering and Automation from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, China in 2017, and the M.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from NUS in 2019. After graduation, he worked as a testing engineer in Huawei Technologies, Shenzhen. Since January 2021, he is a Ph.D. candidate and research associate at the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Nanyang Technological University. His research interests include statistical signal processing and machine learning.

Wang, Sijie

His research interests include graph signal processing, neural networks, array signal processing and urban localization.

Liang, Wenfei

Zhao, Yanan

Yanan received the B.E. degree in communication engineering and the M.E. degree in information and communication engineering from the Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT), China, in 2018 and 2020, respectively. After graduation, she was a remote research assistant at Penn State University, USA, supervised by Prof. Vishal Monga (collaborating with Prof. Yonina C Eldar). Since January 2023, she is a Ph.D. candidate at the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Nanyang Technological University. Her research interests include signal processing, interpretable machine learning and applications.
